High-Dependency Wet Room for Wheelchair User – London
This project involved creating a high-dependency shower room designed specifically to meet the needs of Mrs L in London, who is a wheelchair user. The project needed a strong focus on safety, accessibility and practical daily use.
The bathroom was fitted with a Geberit toilet, providing a reliable and easy-to-use solution within the space. A Libra bath was installed to offer a supportive bathing option where assisted bathing is required, alongside a level access wet room equipped with a drop-down shower seat to support seated showering.
To enhance stability and safety, a vertical central support was installed, allowing the client to confidently utilise the surrounding grab rails for transfers and movement. The floor was finished with Altro Aquarius safety flooring, delivering excellent slip resistance and added reassurance in wet conditions.
The walls were completed with bespoke tiling, creating a durable and visually pleasing finish while maintaining practicality and ease of cleaning.
The completed shower room provides a safe, functional and well-considered environment, tailored to support the client’s mobility needs while maintaining a high standard of finish.
Ms L left us the following feedback:
“5 Stars are for the excellent tradesman, its great to see there are still good people out there that are really good at their craft, and are willing to listen and adapt to meet our needs”
