Mr and Mrs W – Lancashire

Mr and Mrs W from Lancashire approached G360 Bathrooms to transform their existing downstairs bathroom into a modern, easy-access wet room that would provide more space, improved safety and greater independence.

With a relatively narrow footprint to work with, careful planning was essential. The aim was to maximise the available space, create clear and practical movement around the room and introduce the necessary support features without allowing the bathroom to feel clinical.

As the photographs show, the finished room makes excellent use of the available space. The open, level-access showering area provides plenty of room for safe and comfortable use, while the positioning of the shower, basin and support rails keeps everything easily accessible. The combination of overhead and handheld showering also provides flexibility depending on the user’s needs.

We selected contemporary Fibo wall panels throughout the room, creating a smart, coordinated finish while providing a robust, easy-to-maintain surface backed by a 25-year warranty. The muted colour palette works particularly well in this compact space and demonstrates that accessibility and good interior design can sit comfortably together.

The Geberit AquaClean Mera Care wash-dry toilet was another important part of the design. Its contemporary appearance complements the room, while its wash-dry functionality provides practical support with personal hygiene and can help the user maintain greater independence and dignity.

Carefully positioned grab rails provide additional reassurance and support where needed, while the continuous safety flooring and level-access shower area help create a safer environment with fewer obstacles underfoot.

The end result is a bathroom designed around the individual, but one that still feels modern, welcoming and part of the home.

Accessible does not have to mean clinical. This project is a great example of how thoughtful design, specialist products and an understanding of the user’s needs can transform even a relatively small space into a beautiful, practical and safe bathroom that the whole family can use and be proud of.
